Process
The process began with searching for reference images to guide the design. I then used the box modeling technique in Maya to create the initial 3D model.
After modeling, I unwrapped the UVs to prepare the model for texturing, then smoothed the edges to give it a more polished look. I moved on to Substance Painter 3D to texture and color the model, refining both the model and UVs along the way. After final adjustments to the textures, I imported the completed prop into Sketchfab to showcase the finished piece.
Overview
This project was one of my first experiences in 3D modeling. I am very proud of how this model came out. My professors and many of my peers were impressed by the realism and detail in my model.
